Junior Mad Scientist – Lab Notes

Night of the Living Trekkies

September 3rd, 2010 by Weber

Yep, it’s here and that’s the cover. I’ve already finished the book but can’t say anything about it until September 7th.

What I can tell you is that I have two FREE copies of the book and two FREE posters of the cover for lucky JuniorMadScientist.com readers. One of the books is brand-new-never-been-read and the other has my eye prints all over it. I have to figure out some kind of contest because I can’t just give these things away. That’s too much like crazy. Winners will each get a book and a poster.

(Don’t get me wrong — anyone reading this site is already a winner. Good for you! It’s just that some people will be more winning-er than others.)

Meanwhile, slip on over to the official Night of the Living Trekkies Facebook page. Rumor has it that you can chat with the authors and get updates, etc. Everyone who joins the Night of the Living Trekkies Facebook page will automatically be entered in a contest to win a Quirk Books prize package:

Grand prize:
Human-loving Tribbles, unofficial Trekkies T-Shirt, and a signed copy of the book

Two runners-up:
Unofficial Trekkies T-Shirt

(I’d sure like one of those t-shirts . . . .)

Stay tuned for the review!

OK, why the mystery until Sept 7th? Why can’t you talk about it now?

    Yeah… What the heck????

The publishers wanted to do a big media blitz on the 09/07 release date. They’ve requested blog reviews don’t go up any earlier than that, thought it looks like there are some early returns up at Amazon.

Be that as it may, I’m going to stick to the agreement I made with Quirk.

Anybody have an idea for the contest yet?

I have 1 idea for YOU: Get your own Facebook page. Stop cybersquatting on Steph’s. Even if it means registering yourself as Hairy Weber, a great . . . name if there ever was one for you… XOXO

That date is still rather strange as the book has been available since July 28th (according to Amazon). I’ve even got a (purchased) copy sitting on the shelf waiting for me. Oh well, they aren’t called Quirk Books without reason…

My contest suggestion would be to come up with the best zombie related “Dammit Jim, I’m a doctor not a…” statement or something equally Trekkie related.

The whole date thing has me flummoxed, but I figure it’s their game and if I want to keep getting books from them I’d better play along.

Great idea for the game. Better and more practical than my whole “Dance Like Spock/Prance Like Kirk” contest.

And as for the Facebook thing: yeah . . . No.

    Stage 5.
    Get there.
